Passport to London wedding invites

A CASE STUDY

A tech-savvy, travel-themed wedding turned into a multi-platform celebration of love.

Overview

This project, through my company Only Lovely, began with a travel-inspired wedding invitation and evolved into a fully branded wedding experience. Designed for a couple whose last name is London, the theme “Passport to London” reflected their shared love of travel and storytelling. Created during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the suite extended across both digital and physical realms — welcoming guests whether they attended in person or tuned in from afar. Photos by B. CLIENT GOALS

  • Design a wedding invitation suite that reflected both their love of travel and their personalities

  • Infuse glam and rustic details without it feeling disjointed or overly themed

  • Include safe, coordinated elements for their in-person guests

  • Create an engaging digital experience for remote guests that felt intentional, not secondary

CREATIVE DIRECTION, INSPIRATION & Design Notes

The vibe? Country glam boarding a first-class flight. I created a handmade invitation suite modeled after a passport, stitched at the spine, with a dusty rose and burgundy color palette accented by rose gold. Their custom crest appeared throughout the suite—from the belly band to the website.

I layered textures and finishes to reflect their personalities. His laid-back, down-to-earth side came through in the rustic cardstock and earthy palette. Her love of sparkle shone in the foil accents and refined layout. Even the envelope liner featured a custom map with a heart marking their wedding destination—because every great journey deserves a love story.

CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS

Designing Two Vibes into One Suite:
It needed to feel cohesive—not like two different weddings. I used materials and colors to blend their styles naturally and made glam meet rustic without either overpowering the other.

Creating a Streaming Experience That Felt Special:
Since not everyone could attend, I designed graphics and videos that made remote guests feel like they were still part of the day—from the moment the stream began.

Pandemic-Era Safety without Sacrificing Style:
Custom signage helped guide guests safely, and the masks weren’t an afterthought—they were intentionally designed, branded, and beautiful.

RESULTS & CLIENT FEEDBACK

The couple was blown away—and their guests couldn’t stop talking about the invitation suite. I had multiple people reach out asking, “Who did this?” And I got to say: Me aka Only Lovely.

The TAKEAWAY

Passport to London wasn’t just about designing pretty paper. It was about telling a love story through every detail—from hand-stamped masks to stitched invites to cinematic streaming. I didn’t just make something beautiful—I made something unforgettable.
